He was described as a very shy and introverted child, always preferring to be alone in school. Randy often liked to watch Nickelodeon shows, drawing the characters he saw on TV. He used to make short home films using a VHS recorder, much to the criticism of Jeremy. While he did find friends in high school, he had never gotten any girlfriends or went on a date. Randy also had a part time job working at the Weis supermarket. In 2011, Randy graduated from Dallas High School and would attend Luzoni County Community College for three years until 2014, majoring in mass communications. Although, Randy said college and his job weren't his main priorities. It uploaded instrumentals from the album, Make Your Move by the band, Send Request. This would be Randy's last channel, which was created on March 13, 2017. Unlike Randy's other channels, this one has not been terminated from YouTube. Mental decline[]During college in 2013, Randy's friends, Tom Lynch and Matthew got into a fatal car accidents which severely effected Randy. His grandfather passed away and there was another incident were he got into a car accident, but he managed to survive. Jeremy also got into another car accident, which resulted in Jeremy and Randy sharing his mother's car and being unable to pay off the damage. Ever since then, he became interested with the concept of death, with his later videos centering around the idea. Randy became increasingly existential about both aging and his future with his parents pushing him to meet milestones, as he fixated on a potential YouTube career he would realize was unobtainable. After returning to watch Danny Phantom, he became obsessed with the character, Ember McLain. He had called her his wife and thought the Ghost Squad characters were real. During that time, he struggled with gender dysphoria, thinking his soul was female. Randy wore feminine clothing and thought if he were to die, he would be resurrected as a ghost girl. In Ember's Ghost Squad. Randy created a self insert character named Andrew Blaze, who was female. Although he didn’t consider himself fully transgender. He had been opposed to going to therapy or a psychiatrist because he didn't think people would understand him. Randy also became fascinated with the Columbine High School Massacre and one of the preparers Eric Harris. He recreated multiple of the "Natural Selection" shirts Harris used and had created videos displaying his firearms and plans to kill his victims, similarly to the two students’ video tapes. Randy would also join forums dedicated to the Columbine shooting, often saying he could relate to them. Weis supermarket massacre[] Lead up[]On YouTube, he uploaded a video where he flipped a coin to decide his fate. If it landed on heads, he would take only his own life at his house. If it was tails, he kills himself and other people at the supermarket. After flipping it five times, he got three tails. His last videos would show off his weapons and vlogs in which he described his plans and hatred for the world. He also made tweets hinting at the shooting, such as saying, “If you think your body is ready for June 7th then you’re gravely mistaken…” The day before the shooting, he would upload a video touring his supermarket where he films the aisles and exits. Randy had secretly sent emails to close friends talking about his plans and regrets he's made. Shooting and death[]On June 7, 2017, Randy drove to the Weis supermarket to work at his night shift at 11:00 PM. He would block off exit doors using wooden planks and upload multiple links to videos and journals onto his Twitter account about his shooting and suicide. Randy would return to his car and retrieve two Mossberg 500 shotguns. At 1:00 AM, he went back inside the building where he shot employees Victoria Brong, Brian Hayes, and Terry Lee Sterling. Another co-worker, Kristian Newell claimed she heard gunshots and turned to see Victoria dead, with Randy staring at her. He chose to not kill her, instead heading to the deli section of the store while also shooting at glass and other products. Once he was there, he pointed the gun at his mouth and took his own life after the bullet hit its skull. Soon after, Kristen ran to the employees room where called the police, eventually escaping at the front entrance. After authorities arrived, there were a total of 59 shots confirmed and multiple weapons at his house. Aftermath[]The mass shooting didn't receive that much attention at first, with the exception of Pennsylvania expressing their grief towards the tragedy. Weis Markets released a statement condoling the deaths at the store and promising their protection to their customers and employees. The Weis supermarket remained closed until its reopening on July 13, 2017. Days after the shooting, a former friend of Randy and YouTuber, Makemebad35 posted on Twitter his sympathy towards Randy and encouraged people to seek medical attention if they're dealing with mental issues. Randy himself wasn't recognized too much years after the shooting. However, sometime in 2021, many YouTubers started to talk about him, such as Savox and Dr. Todd Grande. Three of his YouTube channels would be deleted off of YouTube, although his videos and journals have been archived. The Ember's Ghost Squad wiki is still being edited to this day and there are a small group of people who believe EGS is real. Trivia[] Randy didn't like his birth name, which is why he took the pseudonym Andrew Blaze. The rubber toy of Froggy was found in a shopping cart at the Weis Supermarket. Randy decided to clean up the frog and make it a character on his channel. He was featured in the Ray William Johnson video, "TOO FAT TO DIE!", which Ray jokingly said it was cool that Randy reuploaded an accident in his driveway. Randy was a big fan of the Banjo-Kazooie games. Randy became friends with PlasmaMasterDon online. He once said that YouTuber FRED commented on one of his videos. Randy disliked people older than 40. His favorite horror films are Halloween and Friday the 13th. Randy originally planned to shoot the supermarket on May 7, 2019, if the initials EGS were converted into numbers. However, he became impatient and decided to commit the crime on the channel’s anniversary. He created an official Ember's Ghost Squad wiki. Randy named his two guns Rachel and Mackenzie, after the characters in Ember's Ghost Squad. The name, PioneersProductions came from the football team, the Pittsburgh Pioneers. His skits were mainly inspired by other YouTube comedians, such as Smosh, Fred, Nigahiga, Cinemassacre, etc. The most viewed video on his channel was "Mr. Horse Head Meets Mr. Wooden Alligator." Randy had over eleven Twitter accounts, with two of them being personal and nine of his EGS characters. He used to create a short series called "You Know What Sucks?!" in which he complained about small inconveniences, which was heavily inspired by the series, You Know What's Bullshit by James Rolfe.
